Aaron chose a new building project - a scow... which in case you don't know, is a flat-bottomed boat, like a barge. He'll be making one big enough to hold two or three people. His intention is to give rides at the eddy next summer.

"An 1890 manual of pastimes which includes instructions for making kites, fishing poles, a blow gun, boats, and theatrical costumes, and for raising dogs, stuffing animals, stocking an aquarium, and camping."
Recently I read the entire forward to him. Our copy has a forward by Noel Perrin that compares boys prior to 1910 with boys of today... sort of a sociological study. Aaron got this book from his aunt a year or two ago. He took a big interest in it when I showed him the plans in the book for building snow forts and houses, after he built the igloos during our snow storm.
The snow is melting now, thank goodness!
