Today Aaron was sitting in our livingroom with a friend when the other boy asked, "Are you going to school next year?" My son responded, "No, I homeschool." His friend said, "Oh, you should go to school!" Aaron said, "I don't want to."
I'm so happy to hear that. At least one of my children agrees with me that homeschooling is better. My daughter is still planning to attend public highschool this year and I'm still as against it as I was last year... but I feel that at her age she needs to be free to make up her own mind. She doesn't like the schooling she got last year but also doesn't want to stay home. Her only reason for wanting to go is for a social life.
LOL - a few months ago she asked me if she could take the CHSPE test to get out of highschool early and of course I was willing. Seemed like a strange request when she doesn't really have to go at all and she knows it. I think she asked because one of her girlfriends was planning to take it. Of course the other kids are being forced to go to school and see that as a way out. My daughter isn't being forced to go. She's free to learn at home and self-direct her education instead.

A few days ago we went to the library and looked for books about dyslexia. They didn't have the one I wanted (
The Gift of Dyslexia) so I got this one instead:

Understanding Dyslexia: A Practical Handbook for Parents and Teachers
